Know it Before You Boat it
Know it Before You Boat it with the new, enhanced Map View by Marinas.com
Browse charts and navaids, find marinas and services, view thousands of spectacular aerial photos, plan a route, all from the new map view.  Now featuring EarthNC's extensive nautical data library, map view provides a comprehensive collection of locations and information viewable in Google Maps and Google Earth.  enhanced by our high resolution, low altitude images of marinas, inlets, bridges, locks, lighthouses, ports, anchorages and more providing extraordinary situational awareness.

Getting started is easy, just click on the Map tab in the Marinas.com sidebar menu.

Zoom into an area of interest and Marinas.com locations will begin to appear. Get there quickly by typing a destination into the Search box at the lower right hand corner of the map. You can control which layers are displayed with the icon checkboxes.  Zoom in close and channel markers, lights, and buoys will appear.  You can click on any of these icons to find out more information.

As you move around the map, the Chart selection box will automatically refresh with available overlays for that area.  To view a chart, select the one desired and check the 'Show Selected Chart' box.  To choose a different chart or hide the overlay, just uncheck the Show Selected box and choose a new chart or continue using the map.

At any time, you can draw a route by enabling the Route Maker.  With the Route Maker in view, click on the Line icon to enable drawing, then click out your route on the map.  While drawing, you can control the map via the clickable pan and zoom controls and you can hide and show icons and charts as needed.  To finish the route, double click at your last route point.  You can edit your line by mousing over and dragging the revealed click points.  You can save your route in 3 formats - KML for use in Google Earth,GPX for transfer to a GPS device, and PDF for ease of printing.  You can clear a route using the Erase option.  To view the maps in 3D, just click on the 'View in Google Earth' button.  You'll need the free Google Earth installed on your computer (from earth.google.com).  Google Earth will open centered on the same place you have open in map view.  In Google Earth, you'll find even more available layers including marine weather, tide predictions, and more.

We hope you enjoy the new Mapview by Marinas.com and EarthNC!  Go to Map
