Introduction:
Bacon Island Swing Bridge, some 13 miles west of Stockton, carries traffic across the Middle River from the west levee road on Middle River to Bacon Island Road.

Navigating the Bridge:
Use NOAA Chart 18661.

Characteristics: The bridge has a closed vertical clearance of eight feet with 90 feet of horizontal clearance in the center span. Water depths average 24 feet at mean low water.

Bridge Schedule:
Summer: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 15 to September 15, the bridge opens with 12 hours advance notice.

Winter: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from September 16 to May 14, the bridge opens with 12 hours advance notice.
