Want to catch the really BIG fish? We are where the fish are, use your boat,
charter a captain from our marina or rent a boat from us. We have what it takes to make your stay enjoyable.
RIPTIDE BAIT & TACKLE - We have live shrimp, frozen shrimp, mullet, squid, clams, sand fleas and ballyhoo baits and chum bags. We offer a wide variety of hooks, lures, weights, leaders and other tackle for river, inlet, surf and off shore fishing. Our selection of convenience items includes ice, beer, snacks, ice cream, sandwiches and drinks. We also offer such items as suntan lotion, hats, charts, disposable cameras, fishing books, life preservers and anchors. Rental fishing rods are available for our FISHING PIER. You can fish the pier for a nominal amount, and No Fishing License is Required.
Riptide Bait & Tackle is located in the same building as our unique GIFT SHOP. In the morning, you may enter only through the door directly off the Fishing Pier, which is generally closed in the afternoons. Then, you may enter through one of the Gift Shop doors.

Rental fishing equipment is available from our Riptide Bait & Tackle Shop, along with such items as, live shrimp and convenience items, including ice, food and drinks.
Our pier is located in the Halifax River about ¾ of a mile from the Ponce de Leon Inlet, where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean. It is an area of brackish water where saltwater and freshwater mix and is a nursery for shrimp and small baitfish. The available fish in these waters include Snapper, Flounder, Bluefish, Shark, Sheepshead, Black Drum and many more.
