Approach

Upon entering the Manasquan Inlet travel inland approximately ¾ of a mile to the Railroad Bridge. The Railroad Bridge operator can be reached on channel 13 however the bridge is manned 24 hrs/7days a week and only closes when a train is approaching. There should be no need to contact the bridge operator. The bridge only allows for one vessel to travel through at a time, so be patient and wait your turn. Upon traveling through the Railroad Bridge you will begin to approach the Rt. 35 Bridge. Vessels over 35 feet in height will have to contact the Bridge operator via channel 13 in order to schedule an opening. If traveling during the Winter months you will need to contact the Bridge Operator via phone to pre-schedule an opening. Once through the Rt. 35 bridge continue south through the channel of the Manasquan River. Keep within the channel as it can get shallow. You will soon pass Osborn Island (aka Treasure Island) on your right, and the Point Pleasant Canal which is the start of the Intercostal Waterway to the left. Prior to the Rt. 70 Bridge, you will find Crystal Point Marina on your left. If you are continuing to the Manasquan River Club, continue under the route 70 bridge (mind the clearance) this is a fixed span bridge with approximately 23 foot of vertical clearance depending on the tide. Approximately a half mile on your left you will see a large island like a peninsula that is Manasquan River Club. Please stay in the marked Channels and obey all NO Wake Zones.

I called the marina to check availability and was told we could come in but had to do the reservation via Dockwa. Okay. Did that. Received a message back saying which pier and slip. When we arrived there was NO signage so we had no idea where to go. When I called back, the marina employee tried to explain the location but we were unable to understand where she was putting us. She finally hung up the phone and came to the marina. Her office is way up the hill and not in clear sight of the marina. Docking was a nightmare with no assistance from any marina employees. With the exception of the young lady taking my phone call and money, there are no employees. Thank goodness for a local boater who jumped in and helped. Marina advertises fuel on Dockwa. We needed diesel. We were told after we arrived no fuel. The marina itself was fine and the bath facilities were adequate. Overall, very over priced and under staffed. If possible, will not stay at a Safe Harbor marina again. Very disappointing and frustrating.
