We absolutely love sailing into the Mystic Seaport—especially just after Labour Day. The marina recently built additional docks, a very welcome condition. The dockmaster, Greg Zabel, greeted us with warmth, proficiency and enthusiasm. Prior to arrival, he had written several emails with the approach to the marina and suggestions whilst in Mystic. He is always generous with his time—it is evident he loves his job. And being at the Seaport always affords the meeting of fellow very interesting boaters. The Seaport is so peaceful and so well conceived, endowed and restored. Seeing our mast among the old schooner’s masts, especially during sunset, propels an anachronistic feeling and deep connection to the commitment of sailors and seamen. Also, walking the beautiful land, and sidewalks into Mystic Village is both intriguing and aesthetically pleasing. We are always sad when leaving the Mystic Seaport and we adamantly anticipate come back! Thank you, Greg and all of the gracious Seaport Staff! Adding that this year, we stayed at the start of our trip--August 1st, and had an equally magnificent time. Love the team at Mystic. and we also meet such interesting fellow-boaters. A stellar experience and a great way to commence our 5-week New England trip. We shall return to the Seaport in a few weeks. Thank you, Greg and Company!!

I cannot rave enough about Stunning Wentworth by the Sea! We were so happy to have discovered it this season and it shall be a destination we shall anticipate sailing to every summer from The Hamptons. Terry and Hannah,(and now, meeting Jackie, this year) in administration, are the absolute best!! They had been so gracious and accommodating from the very beginning of needing to tweak our arrival and departure schedule, a few weeks before arrival. We had a mishap out at sea, during our sail from the previous port, and Hannah was so sympathetic and comforting. We had hit a lobster part and had a prop dysfunction and had to divert a few hours back to Salem for an awaiting diver and possible haul out. Hannah, through Safe Harbor, switched the reservations--and immediately called Salem to inform them of our impaired arrival and to line up the diver to check out the prop. When we were, thankfully, able to make it the next day to Wentworth, all fees were adjusted. The facility and the security at Wentworth are stellar! The docks are so nice. We were on the A Dock. We had great neighbors, and a lovely view. We really enjoyed all the restaurants on the premises—Latitudes, near the marina, Salt, in the hotel. The hotel is magnificent and so many places to sit, read, converse and cogitate—during a month long sailing trip, being solidly on terra firma was well-appreciated! I was going to use the indoor pool one evening but, as it turned out, I didn’t, but I was given a tour of the spa and indoor pool, and next season, I shall definitely book some spa treatments and make use of the warm and inviting indoor pool. One of the greatest amenities for us was the loner car the marina offers. We normally bike all around or Uber on these long trips, and occasionally rent a car. Having a new, wonderful Chevy Equinox at our disposable was such a lovely addition to our stay! Aside from exploring beautiful New Castle, we drove to, and spent time in, Portsmouth—such a vibrant, well-kept town.lovely gardens down by the waterfront. And we stocked up on Provisions at a large market. We couldn’t have been happier with every element of our stay at Wentworth, including a must for boaters—visiting nearby Isles of Shoals. Can't wait to come back next year! Thank you to Philip and Nick and Hannah and Terry and Jackie and all the other amazing employees of Wentworth--a truly magical and quixotically magical port and marina!!

The people at Nantucket Moorings are always SO helpful! We were sorry to see Lee retire, but with Melissa and Julie at the helm, things continue to be so smooth and professional--they are both very communicative and willing to accommodate us and work with us in the height of an incredibly busy season. We are also instantly guided to our mooring, even asked if we need some ice-- always stellar service!! They are the most active company we experience on our New England sails, but they have it down to a science--incredibly professional, organized, understanding, friendly and courteous. We look forward to staying with them every year. Thank You Nantucket Moorings!! See you next season!!

There are no words to describe the fulfillment of aesthetic beauty—so superb and uncompromising—my partner and I attain when staying upon the new, unique dock at the Ocean Alliance. Located on the Rocky Neck peninsula of Gloucester—an area rich in cultural events, art galleries, and innovative restaurants, the historic buildings of the Ocean Alliance combine an anachronistic feeling of old Gloucester with all the modern amenities, including new bathroom facilities. The location, close to the harbor entrance, but accessible, quiet and calm, awards an incomparable panorama of all harbor happenings including the watching of the sightseeing schooners’ sunset sail excursions. The first day we arrived this year, a Thursday, was the day Rocky Neck has its Culture Splash—where local artists and restaurants organize exhibits and food and wine events. We were given a schedule of the festivities by Brian and Alicia, who immediately came to the dock to expertly secure our boat. They are warm and professional—proficient seamen. We later saw the CEO of the Ocean Alliance, Dr. Iain Kerr, and the chief drone program manager, Chris Zadra. They, along with Alicia Pensarosa and Brian, are part of the magnificent, dedicated team of the Ocean Alliance— a research and conservation organization protecting whales and the oceans for over 50 years. A not-for-profit organization, staying at the Ocean Alliance helps fund their invaluable work. For us—along with the significance in our contribution, arriving in stimulating Gloucester, docking at The Ocean Alliance, seeing the members of the organization who have become our friends and inspiration—is like coming home— we feel protected and nourished and are always sad to leave. Until the next time, when we again will become enraptured by what the Ocean Alliance has manifested. You will never regret your stay here!! Thank you, Iain and team!!

We love coming up to Hawthorne Cove from Sag Harbor, NY. The facility is really nice the the staff are very warm, proficient, and so helpful. On our most recent stay, we had to come here because we hit something on the way up to Safe Harbor Wentworth by the Sea, and they don't have haul out facilities up there. Hannah from the Wentworth staff immediately phoned the staff at Hawthorne Cove, and I spoke to Danielle shortly afterward and she arranged to have a diver come out to the mooring Dave was placing us on. It was a late Sunday afternoon, but Dave and Danielle, and the Chris, the diver from ABC, Boston, were all there for us. They were also so compassionate to our plight--as I was pretty upset, having to divert back several hours after being at sea for 5 hours. The whole experience was so up-lifting. The next day we ventured out to Wentworth again. I can't thank Hawthorne Cove team for being there for us. They are always so great--every time we come Docks are great and wonderful amenities! Dave is the BEST!! Thank you, thank you!!

We absolutely love sailing into Boston and we were so happy to discover Charlestown Marina last year. It has become a place we shall sail to every summer from The Hamptons. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Michelle in administration always spent gracious time being so helpful! Abby tried to help with a laundry debacle. The facilities are okay—the laundries now use an app, and the app malfunctioned for me, and that was annoyingly time -consuming. But we don’t stay at Charlestown for the facilities. We stay for the deep, protected and secured harbor. The nice docks, and the welcoming and very proficient staff. We also have come to love the Charlestown neighborhood. Biking all around. The ever-developing waterfront here is vibrant and invigorating. We love the new docks installed on Pier 6, and enjoy eating in the restaurant there. We keep finding more and more cool and delicious, sophisticated restaurants tucked away on quaint blocks. Nate and Abby in the marina are the best!! Thank you, Charlestown Marina—we can’t wait until next year!

Marina Response:
Hi Camille! Thank you so much, it was a pleasure having you return again this year! We appreciate you recognizing our staff, they will be thrilled to hear your comments! We are proud to provide high-quality facilities at the marina and are glad to hear you ventured out and explored the neighborhood. Looking forward to your return next year! Safe travels!

We have never sailed to Portland before and we were tossed on marina locations—but we are so happy that we went with DeMillo’s! Such a grand, well-kept facility with a hard working and gracious staff. The docks are very nice, and the location is the best! The dock we were on was very quiet and still. The security is also paramount and we love the pier. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but toured through it one evening and will definitely eat there the next time in town. Both of the Jake’s who work there are very proficient and helpful. Very, very happy with DeMillo’s and cannot wait to return next season! Thank you!

It is always the most pleasant experience staying in Edgartown on either a mooring or on the harbormaster's docks. Edgartown Harbormaster is a first-class production. From everyone who works in the office, to out in the field, the service is always stupendous! The communcation is the best. If I need to leave a message requesting dockage or a mooring, my call is answered within minutes. The friendly, proficient staff is immediatly on hand to escort us to a mooring or greet us at the dock. We cannot be happier with Edgartown Harbormaster--year after year. Our most gracious sailing transient encounter!! Thank You, Edgardtown Harbormaster!! And adding to this this year—we loved being on mooring #91 we weren’t sure at first. We thought we were so isolated—very far in Katama Bay. But because of a great launch service, we got into the village in no time. And the mooring field where we were was beautiful—bordering an Osprey nest on Chappy and being enveloped by the serene surroundings. Taylor on the launch was THE BEST! Gracefully pulling up to our transom and helping us with our bicycles. Mike and and Steve were really great, too. Thank you!!

We absolutely love sailing into Gloucester and staying on the Harbormaster Moorings. Terry, and the other Harbormasters are just the friendliest , most accommodating people. I cannot praise them enough! This particular stay, we were assigned a mooring in the Niles Beach field and we nearly canceled thinking it was too remote ( or would be rolly) as the Inner Harbor Moorings were all reserved. But we ended up staying there, at Niles Beach, and the setting was magnificent! It wasn’t rolly or uncomfortable at all. It was tranquil and serene and the launch would have serviced us, but we were so happy and relaxed, we stayed on the boat all evening and had a great swim in the clear, warm water. We shall definitely return and stay on the Harbormaster’s moorings. Thank you so much!!

We love staying at Provincetown Marina! Every summer we sail here from The Hamptons. It is an extremely welcoming and well-kept marina. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The laundry facilities are great and we love sitting up by the televisions and enjoying the ambiance and warmth of the fire-pits. Whether booking dock space, or staying out on a mooring ( Tom and all of the launch drivers are wonderful!) we always have a memorable stay at Provincetown Marina and look forward to coming back. Thank you!

Marina Response:
It means so much to us that you choose Provincetown Marina year after year, thank you Camille! Glad you got to enjoy our Captain's Lounge and were helped by our staff. Looking forward to the next visit! Safe travels.

We absolutely loved our 2-night stay at Safe Harbor, Plymouth! The staff was so helpful and courteous from the moment I started communicating by phone a few days before our arrival. Once in the harbor, we were precisely directed, since there are shallow areas on either side of the fairway. Steve--indeed, the master of this establishment--and Mark, were there to greet us. They are proficient and warm and extremely accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed all of their recommendations about enjoying our time in Plymouth. The same was true for the rest of the staff--Mike, Will, Dan. I looked forward to conversing with them all --you could not hope for a better team! The facilities are clean and secure. The only thing we could have wished for was a little more night- lighting on the docks. The marina is lively and so perfectly located. We were on the facedock, with stunning sunset views of the harbor. "The Rock", The Mayflower 11, The Hill, lingering in the backdrop, providing anachronistic elements in a modern town. The light in this harbor is quite exquisite! We met some wonderful boat neighbors--people with whom we will keep in touch. We shall definitely return to Safe Harbor, Plymouth. Thank you, Steve and Team, for your expertise, professionalism, and graciousness!

Always a pleasure staying at Gurney’s Star Island! Guy, David, Dennis, and the rest of the gentleman in the dock office run a great show, are so helpful and accommodating. And fun! The resort amenities are wonderful. We love the cafe and the restaurant, sitting poolside, listening to great music, enjoying the hip ambiance. Gurney’s does all of their project with great style! There is also a Gurney’s Shuttle Bus which will escort you into town and their other Oceanside resort, which has a first-class spa. And there is a very vibrant fishing scene out on the docks. Everyone is so warm and friendly. We shall return again and again. Thank you, Gurney’s!

This was our first time at The Black Dog Wharf. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. Rory assisted us and was proficient at handling all aspects of securely docking. He was most helpful—overseeing all of our needs. The owner is also a very charming and professional man and came to our dock several times throughout the day to make sure we were doing well and not in need of anything. We have been on our sailing trip for 2 weeks and we have another 2 weeks to go. I had been unable to find laundry facilities prior to our dockage at The Black Dog. However, I was thrilled when Rory informed me there were on-site laundry facilities. I immediately dashed there to find a wonderfully large and accommodating room, also with great shower facilities. It was so clean and welcoming and what a pleasure to do all of our laundry so quickly and efficiently. It made my day! The Wharf is so inviting —a beach, picnic tables, and nice docks. We were on the face dock and were enraptured by the stimulating activity and beautiful boats in the harbor— lovely scenes!! And then we had a delicious dinner on the patio of The Black Dog Tavern right beyond the dock. We also got cards for complimentary donuts and muffins and coffee. The donuts were fab! All staff, management and guests adhered to the safety and sanitary measures. We felt secure all of our time there. The docks were quiet and still at night and we got a wonderful night’s sleep. All in all, it was a stellar experience!! Thank You, Black Dog Wharf, we shall return again and again.

It is always a pleasant stay at Pope’s Island. THis is the first time we have been on a mooring and we came in on a Sunday, after the marina was closed but the launch operators were very accommodating leading us to our mooring. Carol, who was running the launch that evening, is fabulous!! And she took wonderful care of us. The next morning, Brad took us about and he was great too. It was a short stay and we didn’t get to use the marina facilities this trip, but it is a well serviced and very pleasing marina. We will be back.
