In my research for long overdue maintenance and cosmetic renewal on my Morgan 41 Ketch "Oriana", I settled on Campbell's Boatyard as the overall best value, despite their being across the bay about 35 miles from my homeport in Solomons, MD. The boatyard is in a quiet location, with amenities that you expect from a first rate marina. It is out from town, but the walk is a pleasant one. Or you can borrow a bike, or even call a restaurant to pick you up. The approach into the cove was easy, with plenty of room to maneuver. Susan met us and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Tom came out the next day to go over my plans, explore the boat, suggest improvements to my list, and discuss budget and schedule. His personal interest in my boat and his knowledge of the systems was reassuring. Through the four weeks, I received daily updates by email or phone. Tom would find something amiss and send me pictures. He serviced my diesel engine, heads, fiberglass deck, masts, sails, water system, and pumps. Tom worked with me on finding the best and least expensive solutions, and listened and responded patiently to my questions and suggestions. We accomplished everything I wanted, within budget and schedule. The quality of the work and craft is apparent on every system he touched. I will go back again for any work required, and will certainly visit again to spend more time at Campbells and in Oxford. I cannot recommend the marina or the boatyard more highly.
