Our visit was nice, the clubhouse a great place to gather the only negative was that two of our boats were at the Boatyard which was inconvenient for their access to the Clubhouse and its amenities. If Safe Harbor is to successfully incorporate the Boatyard into its Oxford operation, similar high quality amenities should also be made available there.

Marina Response:
Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. From a historical perspective, Oxford Boatyard and Mears Yacht Haven Oxford were operationally combined into a single entity in January 2014 when they were both acquired by Brewer Yacht Yards. Both sites were in need of serious maintenance and improvement, which Brewer began to address immediately. In 2016 we delivered the new marina clubhouse & bathrooms, and then turned our attention to the marina docks, bulkheads and dredging. As you may imagine, a project of that complexity takes time to design, obtain permits and build; Phase 1 included a new fuel dock, bulkheads and A, F & G docks opened in 2020, and Phase 2 dredging and the remaining floating docks opened in 2021. Now that the marina renovation is complete, we are actively turning our attention to the boatyard. A permit application has recently been submitted for bulkheading and dock replacement, and in parallel we are working on designs for new shore-side facilities including office space, bathrooms, laundry and customer lounge. Permitting of the docks through MDE and Army Corps is likely to take +1yr before construction can start, then the construction will need to be phased to enable boatyard operations to continue as seamlessly as possible. While I can't yet forecast an opening date, I do anticipate this being a multi-year endeavor much like the marina was. Enjoy the remainder of your holiday weekend Graham Norbury / General Manager
