Not happy with the fact that the dock crew having become complacent. They have apparently given up on keeping seagulls and mussel shells (with flies), and bird droppings off of the docks. The mussels are growing rampantly on the underside of the docks, so the seagulls have an easy meal. I’d suggest cleaning the dock bottoms and taking care of the mess on the docks. A very nice expensive large sailboat pulled into one of the slips while we were there. I can’t help But think they must not have been impressed when they stepped off of their boat. Otherwise we find the location and amenities appropriate.
Moorings by the foot? I’m sure the owners know where the money is. We came for a group event. It’s unlikely we will cruise here otherwise, as there are many nicer destinations that are far le$$ . It is nice to walk through town to see the diverse shows, but not a place for small children....
Nice quiet anchorage with all the amenities you’d want: fuel, showers, laundry etc No launch service though, but I can understand that in their situation.
We were real happy with the professionalism and treatment received by the Harbormaster and launch drivers. While there we were able to extend our stay by 2 days. There’s lots to see and do in Gloucester/Cape Ann, and we plan on returning, hopefully with another couple of boats to accompany us.
