Other than background noise from the fish factory at night, our stay in the Inner Harbor went well. We are looking forward to the opening of dockside facilities when the pandemic is over, likely next year. That will make staying in Gloucester even more complete.
I think people wouldn’t be disappointed if you charged $5 more per day for a mooring and use those $$ For an attendant to clean and sanitize the bathrooms and showers. We were disappointed to find the showers locked. We understand the COVID situation, but think that taking showers would help eliminate and not spread it.
Nice quiet anchorage with all the amenities you’d want: fuel, showers, laundry etc No launch service though, but I can understand that in their situation.
Not happy with the fact that the dock crew having become complacent. They have apparently given up on keeping seagulls and mussel shells (with flies), and bird droppings off of the docks. The mussels are growing rampantly on the underside of the docks, so the seagulls have an easy meal. I’d suggest cleaning the dock bottoms and taking care of the mess on the docks. A very nice expensive large sailboat pulled into one of the slips while we were there. I can’t help But think they must not have been impressed when they stepped off of their boat. Otherwise we find the location and amenities appropriate.
Moorings by the foot? I’m sure the owners know where the money is. We came for a group event. It’s unlikely we will cruise here otherwise, as there are many nicer destinations that are far le$$ . It is nice to walk through town to see the diverse shows, but not a place for small children....
