The marina was totally cool. It was carved out of Pleistocene carbonate. In the marina waters sat a long thin turquoise-green skiff with a Yamaha engine on the back. The two other boats were the ones our group would be using including a Boston Whaler Outrage 18 with a single Yamaha 225 motor and Captain Robbieâ??s boat which had 2 Yamaha 225â??s on the back. Atop the Pleistocene outcrops at the marina there was an abundance of coral storm wash-over possibly from Hurricane Irene. Conch shells and various species of corals were scattered everywhere. To the careful observer one would note that the conch shells were derived from divers as they had muscle cuts in the shells. There were also lobster pots, colorful ropes, vibrant nets, and neatly stacked pallets sitting around near the fish and conch filet station. Across the gravel road from the marina sat a house that was built in 1884 painted a brilliant blue with white trim.
