Nice linear dock. We came to wait for the wind to die down before heading east across the lake. We wanted water and 50a power. All good. I’ll take a pool anytime I can get one, so bonus there. Not heated, but it was a warm day and felt great. Pricing wasn’t clear. Active Captain, the marina website, and even the sign was old info. The actual cost for our 55’ boat was $1.50 per foot. Good bike riding. We never used the bathroom or shower so can’t comment on that.
We are not Safe Harbor members. Burnt Store Marina Safe Harbor, is about the same as Burnt Store Marina before it was a "Safe Harbor Marina". The static docks are fine. The water and power work. The staff is very good. The Deli and the restaurant are good. Pump-out, fuel dock.... all good. We were there for a couple of weeks, and provisioning became necessary. The town of Punta Gorda is 10 miles away, with no way to get there (that we found) other than an Uber, which took 20 minutes to get to the marina, and wasn't cheap. It's a long walk. or short bike ride to the pool, which was nice and warm. On "H" dock, you can hear the forklifts from the boat club beeping all day. On "G" Dock it's much better, and of course you don't hear them at night. At night you hear the bar band, which isn't all bad.
What a pleasant surprise to stumble across Safe Harbor Haverstraw on our way down the Hudson. The restaurant was great. Too late in the season for the pool, but it looks new and beautiful. Matt, Sherry, George, Tim, and the entire staff were all super nice and helpful. We were here during COVID-19, and everybody adhered to the rules properly. We bought fuel, and it’s the only place I’ve seen with low speed or high speed fueling pumps. Pump out worked perfectly, and was free. The docks are aluminum, and have room for improvement, but are safe and accessible. Bathrooms looked new. Washers/dryers worked well, and were cheap. We had some minor maintenance done, and we were given courtesy dockage during those repairs. Parts were ordered one afternoon, and here by 7A the next morning. The ships store is undergoing some changes, and it will be a whole new store next time we come through. The town of Haverstraw is not walking distance (nothing is). We took a cab into town for provisions and found everything we needed.
