Stayed on well kept mooring ball. Nice Publix was a 3/4 mile walk. Beautiful beach was one block from the East public dinghy dock. Ate lunch at Pop’s diner a blast from the past. Food was good casual food. Fun eclectic bar called the Fat Pelican in easy walking distance. Overall, a very nice stay.

Marina Response:
Thanks Albert, Glad you enjoyed your stay and your comments on Sea Witch & Fat Pelican. Have a great summer and hope to see you again soon! Larry

The facilities such as cruiser’s lounge, fitness center were very nice and staff were helpful and friendly! Great walking area and some shops and West Marine in walking distance.

Had a good stay at Safe Harbor Marathon. Bathrooms were kept clean and all went well except for the wifi at our dock. Lazy Days restaurant has a Happy Hour but you must ask for the HH menu. Large portions for regular meals. Heated pool is lovely.

WiFi was lousy. Bathrooms were okay but could use an update. Pumpout worked well and was free.

Dockmaster was very friendly and helpful. It is always helpful to have a courtesy car, which they had, which held 7 passengers. Since we had several boats this was great and were able to take the car back to back hours which gave us time to go to the renown sound studios and Alabama Hall of Fame which were good. One of the floating docks was a bit tilted but overall were not bad. Dockmaster’s recommendation to go to visitor center next to marina was well worth it.

The dock is good but could’ve been bigger. We had some boats that rafted. Very easy into town. Kirchoff’s Bakery had wonderful fresh bread, pastries were delicious and were told the cookies were also. Had a great meal at Max’s Brick Oven. Menu was not just pizza, but full course meals also. Outdoor and indoor seating. Nice atmosphere. Town was great and Quilt Museum and mural painted flood walls are a must see for men and women. They were not your grandmother’s style quilt!

Nice people, staff and people who have boats there permanently. However, the facilities were very average and you are on the opposite side of the river to be able to visit the town.

Our first time here. It is a bit further than City marina to get into to the city but not bad. May even be the same depending on where you are located on the mega dock. A very doable walk to a Publix. Bathrooms could use a renovation. Would come back again.

A nice small marina on the NW side of Marathon. Since it is connected with a resort, the amenities of the pool, tennis courts, bikes, and lounges on the sandy areas were nice. It certainly was not at its peak and they could use a bit more maintenance all around the resort and marina but very satisfactory. It is a good location to get to Pubix, Home Depot and Marathon Park. Very nice tropical vegetation around. Bathroom/shower facilities were just okay, but we don’t usually use them, so not a big concern for us. We had some north, NE winds with which we were concerned, but we did not rock much at all, so we’re very pleased.

Very convenient getting an email the day before with a map of the docks and what slip we were to go into. The dock boys were average at best knowing what lines to take first and what direction to take them. Facilities were okay but showing wear and not many updates. Reasonably priced.longtime
