Stayed there for 2 nights last week and were very pleased with the facility and the staff. Grace and the dock hand were extremely helpful. We used the golf cart to explore the island and had a great lunch at “The Wharf”. The pool was fantastic as the trees shaded the pool. The negatives were as follows: (1)diesel pump handle needs to be replaced as it doesn’t work correctly, (2) due to schedule had to leave at low tide and channel back to main shipping channel is very shallow, (3) order redfish at restaurant at the dock which they ran out of, they brought us swordfish and never mentioned the substitution until we tasted it and called the waitress over and questioned it. At this point she said that they had run out of Redfish.
The owner, Tom Daniels, couldn’t have been more helpful. An extremely nice individual. The Marina has the cleanest bathrooms and showers of any Marina we have been in. No rust or corrosion on the fixtures like other marinas. Great lounge/kitchen area for boaters to use. Washers were free to use, you just had to pay for the dryers. Will definitely stay here again. Water was also very calm and a protected from wake on the intercoastal.
Restrooms and shower areas need to be redone. Needs paint and new fixtures. Public restrooms were in much better shape. Staff were very good and helpful. Is is a shame that the bathrooms and showers are such an embarrassment.
Staff and Hanna, shuttle driver, are great. We had no wifi on dock J. Marina is no big for just the one shower and bathroom area. The reason I say this isn’t the number of units but how far a walk it is to get to especially when you are 70years old.
