Always a favorite destination. Well-kept facilities and a helpful staff. The island location adds a touch of seclusion even though it's only a 25-yard ferry ride to the mainland. The only reason I stop short of a 5-star rating is that for the past two seasons my polarity alarm is set off when I plug into shore power. It's the only place this happens. Not a big deal except for the constant beeping of my alarm. I'll continue to make this an annual stop and perhaps will arrive next time without the polarity issue.
Nice location allows for an easy walk or dinghy ride into town. Fixed docks, not floaters, but Kenny was as helpful and talented a dock hand as you'll find anywhere. We look forward to a return visit.
In spite of ongoing efforts to restore power in the marina after tropical storm Iaisas, the staff went out of their way to make things work. We have only had good experiences here.
This is an annual stop for us. Great location and nice accommodations. We were arriving late on a Friday evening and even though we had called earlier, we received a call to verify that we knew our slip assignment since our arrival would be after hours. That's great customer service.
Great location at the base of Main Street, but the floating docks are located adjacent to a public parking lot, which makes it feel somewhat exposed. The staff did not offer any information about the facilities, so I'm still not sure if there are any showers available. For my next visit, I'll pay the upcharge for one of the other marinas.
Pilots Point is always a favorite spot. The docks are excellent, the staff is attentive, the bathrooms are spotless, and there are amenities such as a pool, grills, and an on-site restaurant. It's also as good a marina as you'll find anywhere for all types of service for your boat.
I really like Payne's and expected it to be crowed over the July 4th holiday, but was unprepared for just how crowded it was. Not that I minded the crowd - actually fun - but there was not enough connections to water on the dock, which was disappointing. Also found it strange that the showers cost 25 cents. Shouldn't that be part of what we are paying for? Otherwise, great venue, fun bar on the dock (Mahogany Shoals), and great breakfast sandwiches at Rebecca's.
This is one of our favorite marinas. Very well maintained and clean facilities. Great location away from the fray, but close enough to the town center to walk, or take the free shuttle to make it easy. The Porto Bello restaurant on site is also excellent. We will definitely make this a regular stop.
