Parking Rip off at Hull Marina. We bought 6 tickets for a boat ride on the beautiful Ottawa river at $30/each on Saturday Oct 10 2020. The 6 of us met in the parking lot in 3 different cars at 160 Laurier in Gatineau. Almost no one but maybe 10 cars in a huge 200 cars parking lot. None of us saw the minuscules signs showing it was a paying parking. No reminder anywhere as you walk towards the marina dock. (Don't forget to pay for parking) No signs at the entrance gate either. None of the 6 of us could see the small parking payment machine and we each got a parking ticket of $95 as a result. When returning to our cars after the boat ride, we found our tickets on our windshields. All of us were surprized. We looked for signs as we exited. A small sign with a paying machine lost in the middle of the parking lot. No signs at the empty booth with open gates at the entrance and finally a sign (lost among many other signs) showing a price of $8 at the side of the street as you enter the marina parking lot. No need to say we were extremely disappointed to realize we got ripped off by a system. (Of course the officer comes when the boat is gone for a one hour ride to give parking tickets). No meaningful signs to show its a paying parking lot. Entrance booth not manned with open gate. Once you return from your one hour boat ride on Paula D, you get a nice Thank you note in the form of a Parking Ticket of $95 for the $8 parking. We, of course, would have gladly paid $8 for parking had there been signs indicating it. What a RIP OFF !!! Signed : Frustrated Ottawa/Gatineau visitors
