I came to the marina on Aug. 29. I had the unfortunate experience of registering for an overnight stay (3days) with deputy harbor master CARY SMITH. He asked me questions about my boat which I had with me. I had recently had shoulder surgery and am awating carpal tunnel surgery. He asked if my boat was seaworthy, I explaiined that it was a "Zodiak" type boat CF2072UK. He asked me if I was there to get cheap parking. I explained that Francis Beach charges $70 with hookups. Marina parking with no service is $50, how is that cheap? He asked me if I was going to put my boat in the water? I said I wasn't sure because my wrists hurt and if I felt good I would put it in. He asked again if I was going to put the boat in the water and I said it depended on how I felt but that I wanted to. . I showed him my wrist braces and explained that I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery also and that in my condition I was not sure I would be able to put the boat in the water. He said,"Oh so now you want to play the disability card." He then told me he was going to write down my information and that if I ever come back to the marina that I would not be allowed in. "I'm not going to MAKE you put the boat in the water because you might hurt yourself and sue me." I offered to show him my boat and he declined. I was angry that he was so rude and threatened to ban me along with the disability comment. Therefore, I decided to call out DHM CARY SMITH for his rude behavior.
