WOW! What a great marina. Cailyn was there waiting for us when we hailed on the radio. Al helped us with our lines. The cleats are adjustable on a track and he had his socket wrench if he needed to adjust them. They have a pump out so we used that as we drove into the marina. They do NOT have fuel. There is fuel at Shumway across the river. They have FREE Laundry! Extra Large washer and dryer. Beautiful boaters lounge with TV and sofa. Excellent service! Gates with a keycard are needed to enter the dock area and the boaters building. Ice cream & restaurant on site. The history of the marina- The docking area used to be a parking lot for the ferry that went to Canada. When that wasn't profitable they dug out the parking lot and added docks. We loved it and could have spent more time there. Many restaurants are within walking distance. We were told that Mr. Dominic's is the place for Italian but... It is closed on Monday's. (we arrived on Monday) It is on our list on our way back through next spring. We used DOCKWA to reserve the slip but we had to spend 3 days on the wall in Oswego waiting for a weather window. NO cancellation fees. I just kept Cailyn posted on our plans.
Steve was there to catch our lines! Loved the google doc with all kinds of info sent to us when we were settled in. The long dock is pretty solid but the "t" we were on was wobbly. WIFI was Great! Croton Dam is a must see. Close to a Shoprite store and many restaurants! Train station is close by if you want to go into NYC. Trains are every 30 minutes about $10. Excellent walking trails. AMAZING SUNSETS over the Hudson! Was a perfect stopping spot for us as we head to the Erie Canal. THANK-YOU Steve!!! M/V Sunshine State of Mind
