We have stayed here before and keep coming back. The dock hands were as helpful as always and we found the shower facilities to be clean and accommodating. We most like the restaurant right there. A very good option in this part of the Sound.
Cuttyhunk is a magical place. Go. Now. As for the Pier, it was terrific. The dockhand was skilled, helpful and welcoming. I would stay there again, but would also simply pick up a mooring ball. If you stay on the pier, bring boards to help make the most of your fenders. We had our genders rigged horizontally, which worked fine. Boards would have been better. Our night at Cuttyhunk was amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
We stayed about a week at the Black Dog Wharf. The folks there were really helpful and the boat was safe and sound on the days we hung out on Island. The location in the harbor was perfect — protected and an easy hop into MV sound. Once off the boat, it was a little removed. We are one night at the restaurant there which was very good. I would recommend this spot for sure.
We stayed at SHYC twice on our way to and from Martha’s Vineyard. The dock was easy to access and well maintained. It was a perfect place for us from a convenience perspective. The clubhouse was a short walk from the dock, which was fine with us. The clubhouse is very new and the shower facilities were top notch. Really great. The restaurant and bar were welcoming, and the food was good. The service was a little slow, but that was ok with us. The dock is a few block walk to Stonington, which was a terrific little town. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
