We have stayed at LBKM many times over the years. It’s been since May 2022 that we visited last. This time not so great. Marina very full so we didnt get any closer to the pool than E dock. Same bikes available (free) that makes it great to go to Publix or just go for a ride. We were really looking forward to playing pickle ball on their courts. But this time they are now reserved for members. Transients can play too but at $35.00 per player for 90 minutes. Bathrooms were the same. Unfortunately the tile in the stalls is disgusting; weeping black mold. Maybe a time for a little overhaul of the bathroom facilities especially considering the dockage rates and resort fees. It’s still a great place - free shuttle to St Armonds or local restaurants is really nice.
Nice location for visiting Clearwater area, especially downtown and new Coachman Park amphitheater. We saw Chris Young in concert that was lots of fun. Downtown area has 3-4 restaurants within walking distance that are pretty good. Publix is a few more blocks away but not far. We have folding bikes so it was no problem. Wards Seafood market is great, about 2 miles but worth it. Beach trolley or ferry to Clearwater beach is also close. Floating docks and new marina office has new bathrooms and showers. All very clean. Our slip was in the north marina near the Freedom Boat Club and entrance gate. Very close to the office and bathrooms. However, the Freedom Boat Club clients frequently leave the gate ajar so security could be better, especially with clients frequently coming and going. There is possible option to stay in south marina that would be quieter. The wifi was poor even though we were very close to the office and antenna. Connecting was quick but constantly got dropped even when using our wifi extender.
We stayed here a few years ago before the marina was remodeled. Great location. Easy walk to downtown and restaurants. New marina has nice floating docks. Facilities are the same as before, pool and bathrooms. Bathrooms maybe upgraded a bit. WiFi has been replaced with wired Ethernet at each power pedestal. Great if you have Ethernet cable and router or other to plug it into. (We didn’t).
Great place. Staff very nice and helpful. 2 pools. Many nearby restaurants. Publix,Winn Dixie,Walgreens , Kmart and Home Depot about a mile away. No bikes provided but if you bring your own there is a good bike path alongside the highway.
Don’t expect much. WiFi currently under repair. No cable TV. If you want to refuel, don’t do it the am. They are too busy gassing up the rental boats. It is clear the rental business is their main interest, not short stay transients. Bathroom for restaurant close to dock but showers are farther away. We didn’t try their restaurant, is was rated ok but places down near bridge are much better (about 20 min walk).
