Tight channel to the marina, but doable with 5 foot draft at low tide. Very helpful dock staff. Great access for walking around town. Bathroom has only one shower stall, so access might be an issue if crowded. Great dinner at the Hurricane!
Moorings are a bit challenging here as you have to pass a line through an eye on a post sticking up from the mooring ball. I initially passed a line from one bow cleat to the other, but it fouled my anchor roller since my freeboard was about the same height as the post. It worked better to come back to the same cleat, although this left the boat a little cockeyed to the strong wind that persisted that night. Excellent lobster roll ashore! We also enjoyed the harbor raw bar, but we prefer the oysters from our home waters in Maine.
Beautiful harbor, but the mooring we were given had a pennant totally encrusted with barnacles, mussels and other sea life. Two of the crew suffered small cuts handling it. Bring work gloves! I expected much better considering the high price of the mooring. Ashore, the Club has nice facilities and the town is great for walking. Dinner at the Sail Loft was terrific. Farm & Coast market is great for provisions and food. All their bakery goods come from Little Moss restaurant and were excellent. Will try the restaurant for dinner next visit; I suspect it is excellent, too.
Nice harbor, but hard for me to comment otherwise since we did not go ashore. We were assigned mooring #12, but we were never able to find any numbers on the moorings and just picked up an open one which based on the mooring map was probably 11 or 12. Lower numbers appear to be closer to the finger float popular with the cormorants so I would try to avoid those.
I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Very friendly and helpful staff, good facilities ashore and a beautiful quiet harbor.
Great harbor with clean, hot showers at the Harbormaster’s facilities. Nice town for walking around.
Beautiful Harbor with incredible variety of wildlife: seals, fish, herons, egrets & ospreys.
Always a great harbor. Sunday deck parties are a fun time!
Very convenient harbor. Marina is quite spread out and a little confusing. Dinghy dock, by water, is quite a way from the dockmaster house. Sending a map or brochure attached to the confirmation might be helpful for a yachtsman arriving for the first time. Paying for showers (25 cents a minute) seems ridiculous considering the mooring/dockage charge.
Nice spot. Was assigned a mooring with my reservation, but someone else was on it when we arrived at 1630. Staff seemed very casual suggesting we take one of two other moorings. Shortly after we picked up one the boat assigned to it arrived and the staff directed them to another mooring. Seems like the assignment/reservation process could be improved.
A terrific place staffed by a first class staff. Always friendly and helpful.
Pretty harbor, mooring in excellent condition. We chose not to go ashore, but looks fun ashore, too.
Beautiful harbor! Impressive currents through Goose Rock Passage at half tide.
Simply the best place to stay in Casco Bay! Friendly, helpful staff. Great restaurant, too.
