About

Introduction:

Clapboard Creek is located off of the Blount Island Channel, which cuts to the north from the Saint Johns River at Blount Island. Blount Island is a large industrial complex that houses shipping terminals, a U.S. Marine Base and other freight-related operations.

Navigating the Water:

Use NOAA Chart 11491.

Clapboard Creek is best approached from the south via the Blount Island Channel off the Saint Johns River. The opening to Clapboard Creek is crossed by a fixed bridge that limits upstream passage to vessels with less than 19 feet of overhead clearance. A small marina juts out form the northwest shore of the creek.

Local Notices to Mariners:

Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
