Best spot on the Hudson River

Never again - SHALLOW all over the marina and it was high tide! Ruined our props on a 36 foot boat that only draws 3.7 feet. Very obnoxious attitude from the "yacht club" members. Total elitist attitudes!! This is a co-op where they just don't seem to want to have visitors whatsoever. The town is no where near the marina and there is nothing there whatsoever. We wasted 45 dollars on a cab to try to locate anything! There is not one single thing around there in Montrose or the neighboring town of Verplank. We ended up taking a different cab down to Croton on Hudson to eat at the Ocean House Seafood restaurant there in Croton. Much better options on the river than this Cortlandt YC Can't believe they say they have slips but you have to tie up using life rings and old nasty lines to tie to 4 uneven piles

Spent Labor day weekend there as a transient just last year. We were welcomed with open arms by members and even got to enjoy a live performance of an Elvis impersonator. There was catered food; all you can eat for $20. Our two young kids enjoyed the playground on site. All docks and access to the water was gated off which provides peace of mind with little ones running around. I stopped in early one morning and enjoyed the sunrise and delicious breakfast from the cafe on the location. I did not have the opportunity to enjoy the pool, but it appeared clean and very well-maintained. They had a few workers cleaning and vacuuming the pool on the early morning I arrived. I loved it so much that I secured myself a slip there for the upcoming year. Can't wait to get out there and enjoy all the amenities this place has to offer!

Very cliquish yacht club with snooty "A-members" who frown upon transients as well as non co-op owners. I had heard otherwise through the grapevine before, but mistakenly took my chances since the other marinas were at full capacity a little down river. We draw 3.8 feet and hit bottom when it was mid tide inside the marina.

I'm am not one to ever leave an unflattering review but last summer our 36 foot power boat banged up both our props badly enough to need a diver and very pricey repairs. The water depth is absolutely not any more than 3.5 feet at low tide and I should have done more research beforehand. Anyone claiming otherwise here is clearly a Cortlandt YC co-op member trying to garner transient business. -On the subject of the pool, there is no room to safely swim without being right ontop of others and with covid going on, it was frightening. NYS also severly limits how many people can be in a pool at once but here it wasn't regulated at all. As for the mechanics there such as George, get ready to get jerked around and have a no show. We ended up having to get towed out get to a nearby marina to get repaired the next morning. Three other long time boaters there gingerly told us that one can only travel in and out of the marina at high tide. Should have realized when the whole approach to the marina sea wall entrance kept our low depth alarm going off. Some of the members were trying their hardest to help out but we wouldn't repeat.

CYC is a great place to overnight, spend a few days or stay for the summer. The docks are well maintained with great electric and water pressure at every slip. Wi-Fi is available for free and the showers had plenty of hot water. The Cafe and Pool are outstanding and the people are great. The approach is well marked and I had plenty of water at low tide. The pump out is located next to the boat well. My favorite on the Hudson.

Cortlandt yacht Club is a very nice facility run by a member based volunteer group. They have both private owners and licensee members that occupy the dock and facilities. Average water depth across the marina is 4 to 6 ft at mean low tide (see active Captain reviews) There is a pool and snack bar on the property as well as a full array of service equipment to meet the needs of your boating requirements. Local mechanics are available and a local boat salvage yard (1/4 mile away) offers anything you may need for repairs and service. This is a great run facility with a friendly group of people and family atmosphere.

RUDE and unprofessional. Being in quarantine now, I finally have had a chance to catch up with reviews. The words that come to mind for this Cortlandt YC are heartless and uncaring. If you want to get ahold of someone there, forget it, you can't but they will keep you large deposit even though there is less than 3 feet of water on the immediate approach of the marina and countless piles of rocks and debris within the marina. I wrecked my newly repaired outdrives pulling into the marina, and it wasn't anywhere near low tide I had been warned by four other people beforehand about the depth there, but I was suckered in by a group of their club members who later on scoffed at my issue, and said to call "their mechanic". I have never been treated more poorly and the phoney nice guy attitudes sure faded at the drop of a dime. They take no responsibility for anything there, nor do they do anything in a timely fashion for the boaters I've spoken to who've had minor yet troubling thefts from their boats. These boaters have all told me it goes with the territory of docking in marinas. No way, that's absurd and nothing I would ever tolerate again. My other regret is not writing this back in August when it all happened, but we had a family health emergency to deal with. The short of this all, is I wouldn't recommend CYC to anyone.
