Marina itself is an excellent location but 100% unprotected gets very choppy worse than being underway in choppy water. Lesson learned for me I should have looked more closely. People were nice amenities were top notch.

It was not good. The docs were very rough. There was no wake protection. Boats were pitching around no showers no bathroom the dock boy didn’t know what he was doing. It was expensive and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The location is what sells the marina, but they would do far better if they installed floating docks. The staff is friendly and are there to answer all your questions, but as I said, the floating docks make all the difference. Love it either way though. Did NOT find it too rough when we were there, but we are 102’ Smaller vessels may find the rocking a bit much.

Location is great. Right in the heart of the city, but not protected. Was a bumpy night. Dock hands were great.

We've stayed in a lot of places, and I don't like to give a negative review. But I wouldn't come back here again. Really expensive (which is to be expected -- afterall it is Manahattan), but horrible protection. The ferry traffic in the Hudson is constant ... out boat got rocked in this place 24/7. They need a breakwall desperately. We slept in a hotel. I could never imagine trying to sleep on the boat in this place. The movement is like I've never seen before.

Fabulous location, nice crew, clean and efficient. The Hudson gets a little busy so its a bit of a bouncy stay but a good stay.

The dock handlers were great. The facilities were nice. The marina is unprotected from a very strong current and lots of rocking & rolling which made it uncomfortable to spend time on the boat. Good location but the marina needs a strong breakwater. We have stayed at other marinas on the Hudson that have breakwaters.

Chelsea Piers excels in 2 areas: (1) location! It’s the best location for a boater to stay on Manhattan. (2) Service: the dockhands are exceptional, knowledgeable and very responsive. The only negatives are well-known. It’s very rocky during the day. The marina doesn’t have any protection from the wakes of boats flying up and down the Hudson, so be prepared to hold on if you’re aboard between 7 AM and 9 PM. The second negative is that there really aren’t any shower facilities; you can use the restroom at the adjacent Golf Club. As log. As you understand and can handle these two negatives, it’s a fantastic marina.

It’s a great location. The staff was helpful. There is no break wall and the water was rough all day. Not sure if we had access to bathrooms at Chelsea Piers.

Very good emplacement but far too hectic because of boat traffic.

Very bad experience! We are boating for more than 15 years and this is so far the worst marina we have been. Great service at start but no answer when I mentioned an electricity problem. We had to use our generator to start our air conditioning day and night. Not to mention the huge waves making it mostly impossible to stay inside of the boat. We left very soon in the morning to get a quieter place.

Staff was great. Dockmaster and Lupita in the office 5 star. 3 star due to lack of power. Ran gen entire time. First night we understood there was no power. Moved the next day to a dock that supposedly had power but it was not sufficient so ran gen the second night. We're 90' so if your taking larger boats then there should be proper power available. It's New York so get ready for surge from boat wakes throughout the day. If you want to be in the city it's here or North Cove Marina and good luck getting them to answer the phone or email.

Dock staff was helpful however the location and esthetics were sub standard. There currently is a giant construction barge in the marina.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay here. Went to the theater Friday night Saturday walked the highline, lunch at Pier 59, Chelsea market, WTC memorial. Easy access to a very vibrant part of NYC.

On the positive side, the location at 18th Street in Manhattan is great for accessing the High Line, Whole Foods, amazing architecture, bike paths, etc. in addition, the dock staff was friendly, responsive and professional. But the location on the water was very tough. Waves from wakes and wind coming in from all directions-our 30’ Tartan was bucking like a bronco for 3 days, to the right, then jerked by the lines to the left, thrown back and jerked forward. A brand new heavy duty dock line busted and two others suffered bad west, but it was more my sleep that suffered. I felt like I was in a washing machine. The oddness of being next to a golf driving range which never shuts off its bright halogen lights and the silliness of having to pay $20 for a shower when I’m already paying $240/ night for poorly sheltered dockage added to my dismay. I am grateful Chelsea Piers took me in a day early when a squall blew up at 9 pm such that my anchorage was no longer viable. But next time I will go to the calm waters of Liberty Marina and sleep.

It was horrible. They advertise 24 hour security, and it is a lie. Their security calls themselves guest services, and stood on the dock watching us struggle with 2 intruders who broke into our boat at 1:15am as we were sleeping. Go anywhere else.

Not only is the facility first read, but the staff makes all of the difference. There is always somebody to help with a friendly face. One of my best boating decisions was to spend the season at Chelsea marina.

Most money we ever spent for least number of amenities. No bathrooms/showers, no security (‘locked’ gate was just rolling barrier), no protection for floating docks which are constantly battered about by waves/wake. Immediately adjacent to golf driving range, unattractive view/sounds.

Easy entrance. Helpful dock hands. Nearby restrooms. Had some trouble with their shore-power adaptors, but eventually worked out.

Convenient location and excellent and helpful crew. The dockage situation in the marina for our tender was great, The Piers are great for vehicle access, but quite difficult to set up good boarding access for a 145 footer. In my opinion the best option for docking in Manhattan.

No shore power , weak water pressure , constant rolling on the dock. Not some where I would come back in a hurry with charter guests.

Marina is perfectly located in the heart of Chelsea but has limited to no services. Tour boat wakes are bothersome but end shortly after sunset. This marina is very expensive for what you get but gives you access to the city.

Location is Fantastic. So easy to walk or bike, great shops and restaurants, the LIttle Island etc. However during the day the swell is crazy. It calms at night but starts again pretty early in the morning.

Very easy access to the West side of Manhattan. Crazy high prices and a little rolly from all the water ferries and boat traffic constantly but the view is outstanding .

Quick and easy. Make sure you tie up with lots of lines and fenders, calm at night but very rough during the day from boat traffic.

Not a secure stay. We were woken @ 12:30am by loud sounds to find that a group of 10+ on our dock & 2 individuals ABOARD our vessel! The two individuals unzipped one of our covers to enter. We had our two children on board. Very frightening experience. Our slip was located outside of the bowling alley which closed at midnight & intoxicated patrons were exiting. The location of the marina was a positive.
