Report Review

Silva Bay is more a Marina and less a resort. The Marina is a good destination but facilities are limited. The docks are in good condition but they are build in such a way that they creek really loudly all the time which at night can make sleep a little difficult. There is 30Amp power everywhere but there is no water access. There is a fuel station on dock with mid grade and diesel. There are showers (one dollar CDN per four minutes) and laundry facilities. There is a liquor store but no grocery store at all and nearest one is about 12 Km up the North road. There are two tennis courts that we used, they were a little worse for wear (someone needs to get out the weed whacker) but usable. The Restaurant: is excellent and the food first rate. There was a really good jazz band playing the night we went and it was great. The service at the restaurant was also friendly and very professional. There is a little coffee shack at the top of the ramp called the Starfish. There hours are unpredictable and coffee is average. Lattes are pretty bad but the Americano and brewed coffee is pretty good. They have scones, muffins etc in the morning and ice cream, smoothies etc. The marina is 12Km from town. You can get to the town by bike in about 2 hours or so. There is a grocery store, restaurants and mostly anything you would need. Overall a nice destination with friendly and helpful people.
