While I vastly preferred the previous owners (WARR's MARINE), I would hardly call ZECCO Marina "old and run down! They are currently in the process of completely replacing the original fixed marina dock with modern, floating docks. Whether or not I like the management at Zecco, I have to say that the $$ they have spent has certainly made some major improvements over previous ownership. New storage sheds, paved parking, updated showers and restrooms, and a picnic/cookout area. If you rely on the marina to do most or all of the work on your boat, they seem to bend over backwards to help! If you are the type that prefers to do your own work, you may feel squeezed in by other boats. If you have a powerboat in the marina, they are pretty good, if you have a sailboat on a mooring... well, they don't understand the need for "deep" water, and so you may find yourself aground at your mooring. That said, I would still recommend ZECCO if you visit Wareham, or are looking for a slip on Buzzards Bay that doesn't require crossing the Canal. I don't consider the less than 1-mile trip from slip to open water (outside harbor) to be long, another mile out to where you can "open her up" and head straight down the bay seems wonderful compared to some other local marinas! Several restaurants are nearby, downtown Wareham is a very easy stroll away! We sold our boat after 38 years on a mooring there, but still visit their marine store occasionally.
