Introduction:
Senix and Mud creeks share a common entrance off Moriches Bay on the south shore of Long Island three miles northwest of the Moriches Inlet and about 19 miles west of Shinnecock Bay. The two creeks have a total of five marinas, and each creek has at least one marina with transient facilities. Moriches and Center moriches are good town for stocking the galley and provisioning activities.

Navigating the Water:
Use NOAA Chart 12352.

From Moriches Bay, exit the channel toward the north at quick flashing red buoy “12,” and then plot a course for flashing green buoy “1,” which is located south of the shared inlet to Senix and Mud creeks east of Masury Point. Once you have cleared flashing green buoy “1,” head north into the inlet where you will find five-foot depths in the center of the channel. Although the passage is unmarked past the last green buoy, if you keep the boat in mid-channel, you should have plenty of depth to work your way in.

Senix Creek is directly to the north of the inlet, while reaching Mud Creek requires a hard port turn after you clear the inlet. Both creeks have five- to eight-foot depths, but Mud Creek is generally the deeper of the two.

There are four marinas in Senix Creek in the town of Center Moriches and one on Mud Creek in Moriches. The Senix Marina (surprisingly on Mud Creek) accepts transient guests and can facilitate repairs. Of the four marinas on Senix Creek, two of them will accept transient guests and all of them have repairs of one sort or another.
