Introduction:
Matinicus Harbor is a quiet refuge on the east side of rugged and beautiful Matinicus Island, which lies south of Vinalhaven Island and southeast of Two Bush Channel. Matinicus Island is popular with cruisers and vacationers alike as a place to “get away from it all.”

Navigating the Water:
Use NOAA Chart 13302.

Approach from the east and pick up green can “3,” which marks Greens Ledge, and then pass green can “5” marking Mackerel ledge to port, heading toward rge red and green bell buoy marking the entrance to the harbor. Flashing red light "2" serves as a nighttime aid to navigation.
