Introduction:
The Jewfish Creek Bascule Bridge, at Intracoastal Waterway Mile Marker 1134, joins Key Largo to Cross Key, and eventually to the mainland. The bridge has an 11-foot closed vertical clearance and 90 feet of horizontal clearance at the center span. The bridge operates on a restricted schedule. Monday through Thursday, the bridge opens on demand. Friday Saturday, Sunday and Federal holidays the bridge opens on demand from 10 a.m. to sunset.

Navigating the Bridge:
Depending on schedule, the bridge can be opened by horn signal (one long, one short) or by hailing the bridge tender on VHF Channel 09. (All bridges in the state of Florida must be hailed on VHF Channel 09.)
