The Bay Farm Island Bascule Bridge connects Bay Farm Island (home of the Oakland International Airport) to Alameda across the San Leandro Channel. The San Leandro Channel is very shallow here, and only the most shoal draft boats can pass. If in doubt, obtain local knowledge before transiting the bridge into San Leandro Bay.

Characteristics: The bridge has a 20-foot closed vertical clearance and 88 feet of horizontal clearance in the center span when open. There is also a bicycle draw bridge to the east of the main bridge with a 28-foot closed vertical clearance and 106 feet of horizontal clearance in the

Bridge Schedule:
