Sue Creek is located on the south shore of the Middle River about a mile in from the river’s entrance. Inside the creek are two marinas, plenty of anchoring room and a little quiet away from what can be a melee of boat traffic on often-busy Middle River. There is a marina tucked right behind Sue Island (visible in the image above), and another farther in to the north toward Turkey Point.
Navigating the Water:
Use NOAA Chart 12278.
From the Chesapeake Bay, Pick up quick flashing red buoy “26” near the main bay Channel. From here, set a course to flashing green “3.” about six miles to the east. Farther in past flashing green “5,” you can spot the flashing green ligh “1” at Sue Island, the southern border of the entrance to Sue Creek. Depths inside range form three to five feet, with a solid five feet at the inlet.
