Bowleys Marina, a 100% member-owned facility, is located on historic Bowleys Plantation, originally settled by Daniel Bowley, a Baltimore sea captain and merchant. The property is still graced by the manor house built in 1887, now renovated to add a sense of old world charm to the entire site. The Marina is truly "in the middle" with easy access via I-95 from the Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia areas and the marina's "Point" location makes it possible to cruise out of the Marina directly into the Chesapeake Bay.
Slips are available for sale and lease. New floating transient slips in 2018.
We are prior Bowleys members and love the marina. However, there seems to be a lack of communication with staff regarding slip assignments. We ended up being told to tie up in a current slipholder's slip, were told they were gone for the weekend. Later that evening a very irate slipholder came into the Chandlery looking for whoever was in his slip. After we explained that staff had told us to dock there he calmed down and we moved our boats around. However, it was a bit unsettling to have to deal with that and hope that communication about renting out a current slipholder's slip would be improved in the future. Otherwise, we love this marina and the people there are the best.
Restroom/showers were clean pool well maintained personnel friendly and helpful. Other boaters friendly and wore masks.
Stayed here for one night after attending a Pearson Sailing Association Crab Feast. The marina staff was outstanding. I am disabled and my crew was two novice sailors. I called in to request assistance in tying up in the slip. Ed the marina manager came himself and expertly had the boat tied up in a flash. He even gave me his personal cell phone number if we needed more assistance. After the crab feast we spent a very nice, quiet evening in the slip with delightfully cool weather. The next morning I again called the office for assistance in leaving the slip ince it was windy at that moment. Two fellows came to help us retrieve the dock lines in an orderly manner. We left the marina in good shape and smiles all around.
