Octane: 89; Ethanol: 10%Bowleys Marina, a 100% member-owned facility, is located on historic Bowleys Plantation, originally settled by Daniel Bowley, a Baltimore sea captain and merchant. The property is still graced by the manor house built in 1887, now renovated to add a sense of old world charm to the entire site. The Marina is truly "in the middle" with easy access via I-95 from the Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia areas and the marina's "Point" location makes it possible to cruise out of the Marina directly into the Chesapeake Bay.
Slips are available for sale and lease. New floating transient slips in 2018. New floating fuel dock with pump out facilities. Easy access at the mouth of Middle River. Deep water, no height restrictions.
Outstanding marina! Excellent facilities and easy access to the bay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this marina!
Wonderful member - owned marina just a short hop off the bay. Facilities are top notch & staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Excellent $$ on diesel fuel as well. We will be back!!
Unfortunately, due to the weather, they had to cancel because of the storm that came through Debbie, but they were very polite, courteous, and handled the cancellation professionally.
Getting in was easy enough, and the dockhands were helpful. The transient slips are out at the very end of the pier and ours was pretty bouncy. It would be much nicer if there was some food onsite.
Our stay unfortunately didn't meet our expectations. Our friends that were traveling with us hailed the marina for dockhand assistance and told dockhands were on their way. After waiting nearly 15 minutes at bay, no one showed. Our power pedestal did not work and we were not offered a solution. This was incredibly inconvenient and were only offered a minor refund of $30 after emailing twice. Finally, we asked for a pump out. Someone came and dropped off the unit with no instructions and left. After realizing we were missing a part, we had to wait for some time for him to return and notify him that we did not receive the full unit. In other marinas, someone stays to provide service to ensure the unit is working before leaving.
Restroom/showers were clean pool well maintained personnel friendly and helpful. Other boaters friendly and wore masks. Was a great stay Anxious to go again One of my favorite and best places to stay. No negative on our many stays.
I have been a slip owner here for nearly 15 years. There is good reason why Bowleys Marina has been awarded Baltimore Sun's "Best Marina 2021" This property is beautifully maintained, and because it is member owned, everyone has a stake in keeping it that way. There are amenities for all; pool, playground, clubhouse, gazebos, fire pit, ships store, laundry and newly refurbished bath house. The helpful yard staff provide safety and security for members and for their boats. The office staff is friendly and efficient. The management staff is second to none. All of this makes for a pleasant and congenial atmosphere for power and sail boaters.
I'm a current renter at Bowleys. I have been at this facility over 10 years, and I and my family have been very happy! Bowleys continue to improve the docks, Travelifts, playgrounds, pool, bathrooms, events and the staff is second to none. It is a great location very near the Chesapeake and restaurants and bars. Thanks for helping my move from Ohio(Lake Erie) to Maryland a great experience.
Most welcoming marina we've seen in a long time. Great prices too. Showers and restrooms well above average.
We are prior Bowleys members and love the marina. However, there seems to be a lack of communication with staff regarding slip assignments. We ended up being told to tie up in a current slipholder's slip, were told they were gone for the weekend. Later that evening a very irate slipholder came into the Chandlery looking for whoever was in his slip. After we explained that staff had told us to dock there he calmed down and we moved our boats around. However, it was a bit unsettling to have to deal with that and hope that communication about renting out a current slipholder's slip would be improved in the future. Otherwise, we love this marina and the people there are the best.
Stayed here for one night after attending a Pearson Sailing Association Crab Feast. The marina staff was outstanding. I am disabled and my crew was two novice sailors. I called in to request assistance in tying up in the slip. Ed the marina manager came himself and expertly had the boat tied up in a flash. He even gave me his personal cell phone number if we needed more assistance. After the crab feast we spent a very nice, quiet evening in the slip with delightfully cool weather. The next morning I again called the office for assistance in leaving the slip ince it was windy at that moment. Two fellows came to help us retrieve the dock lines in an orderly manner. We left the marina in good shape and smiles all around.
