Jonesport Shipyard is a welcome stopover between Mount Desert Island and Canada, located in a well-protected cove on Moosabec Reach in Jonesport, Maine. We offer two moorings in the NW corner of Sawyer Cove to accommodate transient boats up to 45-feet and 6-feet draft. We also have 5 moorings outside the breakwater that will accommodate boats to 60-feet. Locals and cruisers alike turn to the Shipyard for expert service, repair, maintenance and storage.
Our dinghy dock is available to mooring guests. It has a depth of 7-feet at mean high tide and is dry at low. Inside you will find a friendly place to rest with clean showers, laundry, and marine supplies.
Approaching from Moosabec Reach, East or West: From the West end of the steel breakwater, turn into Sawyer Cove and proceed North through the mooring field. Moorings #26 & #28 are inner harbor from breakwater. The balls are white with a blue stripe, and say Jonesport Shipyard.
There are 5 moorings outside the breakwater, the balls are red or white with JSY #1-5.
Mooring was actually attached to a float in the middle harbor. Bath and laundry facilities were clean and well cared for. Hosts were gracious and accommodating.
Friendly staff with nice facilities (shower & laundry). Hamilton Marine and Jonesport pizza are a reasonable walk from the Marina.
Clean showers and laundry. Owners and staff helpful and friendly Jonesport was a place where we could pick up hard to find provisions in this part of Maine
The owners were very nice & helpful. The harbor is tight & shallow for sailboats. The shower & laundry facilities were clean but bring lots of quarters! The machines did not work well. Had to rewash 2 loads of laundry to remove soap & the dryers were not efficient (had to take most clothes back to the boat to dry on hooks/hangers). Also showers are $0.75 for 2 minutes. It was good for one night but not somewhere to spend extended time.
Lovely, caring owners. Shower and laundry facilities are great. Their dingy dock is no problem, just don’t try to leave at very low tide.
