Marinas near Port Orange Harbor

Introduction:

The image above is a view to the south looking over the Port Orange area north of Ponce de Leon Inlet. Following the coastline to the left (east) toward the south (top of the image), the Ponce de Leon Inlet can be seen jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean farther down. The Port Orange Beach is clearly visible and crosses the Intracoastal route south of ICW marker 835 with a 65-foot fixed vertical clearance.

Navigating the Water:

Heading south from Intracoastal Waterway Mile Marker 835 east of Pelican Island, pick up green daybeacon “55,” and then proceed to pick up red daybeacon “56” as you head toward the 65-foot fixed vertical clearance Port Orange Bridge. Once clear of the bridge, set a course to intercept green daybeacon “57,” which leads you to the start of a narrow dredged cut between a series of marshy, tree-covered islands where you will see many types of cormorants, herons, and other shore birds nesting.

The main marina feature in Port Orange is the Seven Seas Marina, which is located just north of the Port Orange bridge and about .2 mile south of Intracoastal Waterway Marker 835 on the east side. Here you will find a boatyard with excellent facilities, a restaurant and a courtesy vehicle that the owners often take cruisers in town with for provisioning activities. Farther south is the Adventure Yacht Harbor, south of flashing green “59,” where a green and red daybeacon mark the side channel off to the marina on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway proper.
