Introduction:
West Caicos Island is the uninhabited, wild, and beautiful member of the Turks and Caicos island chain, and, as the name suggests, the westernmost of the group. The image above is a view from the north looking south toward (from left to right) Cove Point, Logwood Point and Company Point.

The island is so remote and wild that it does not even show up on the Turks and Caicos Tourism Board’s Web page. Indeed, if you head out to explore west Caicos, keep in mind that you must be prepared and self sufficient. There are many diving charters that operate out of Providenciales Island that take their guests to the west end of the island for some of best diving in the entire island chain.

Navigating the Water:
The two primary anchorages on West Caicos island are located off the west shore. The first is located in the lee of Company Point on the north end of the island, and the second is off Yankee Town, and old town (now in ruins) that used to be home to a flourishing group of sisal harvesters.
