Introduction:
Little Harbour is located on the east side of Great Abaco Island about midway between the Great Abaco’s north and south ends. Little Harbour is mainly a shelter for cruisers making the passage to the east around Great Abaco. Unfortunately, there is little in the way of facilities here, but the cove offers excellent protection.

Navigating the Water:
If you are approaching from the south, set a course well to the east of an area known as “The Boilers,” which is a breaking reef about two miles south of the entrance to Little Harbour. Boaters arriving from the north (east of Lynard Cay) must steer clear of the reef extending south of Lynard Cay’s tip.

Once you have lined up for the entrance into Bight of Old Robinson, proceed in about a quarter mile, and then turn south into the entrance to Little Harbor. Note in the image above, that there is a reef that works its way out on the left (east) side oft he inlet to Little Harbour.

Depths inside are about 5 to 8 feet with a sand bottom. Be aware that some areas are grassy and require extra special attention when setting the anchor.

Local Notices to Mariners:
See our “Local Notices to Mariners” blog for updates on the latest conditions and advisories for this area.

Things To Do/Local Events:
Aside from snorkeling, beach combing, sailing, and other water activities, there is an active and vibrant calendar of other scheduled events in the Abacos. See our “Helpful Links” section below for a detailed calendar of events.
