Return to Hartge Yacht Harbor

This is a first class destination marina (not a yacht clubby atmosphere), located in a quaint very small town in a beautiful location. On weekends, there are a few antique stores and shops open, pretty quiet during the week. Waterside restaurants. Neat place and REMAINS family-owned. We loved it and will return.

This is a five-star marina...they're great to work with. No pretentious attitudes. Very cooperative. My first slip didn't work with my boat, so they quickly helped me find one that does work. All the things you need at a marina...clean heads, adequate parking, well-maintained slips. And located in a wonderful little town. I love it!!!

After 5 years of liveaboard and cruising, (>10,000 miles) we stopped here on another boater's suggestion. Superb service second to none from the friendliest staff you'll meet anywhere.
As a transient I was wary, but a tech was aboard had the problem resolved quickly. We ended up staying to accept their invitation to the, "End of the Season" party with beer, wine and live music. This is a boatyard with slips, vs. a marina that has service people on the fringes. Whether you stop for a slip or need service I'd seriously consider this yard.
UPDATE Fall, 2009 Unfortunately there has been a major personnel change since my initial post and I understand the manager, technicians and service manager are now located in Galesville proper and have added mobile service to the wide range in services. When you call the number listed in the cruising guides you will get the original manager and staff vs. the family location. Double check when you make arrangements that your boat will be worked on by the original staff in a new location within Galesville. Ask for Luke the Service Manager.
