Introduction:
Quisset Harbor is located off Buzzards Bay about one mile northeast of Woods Hole. Quisset Harbor is a unique and well-protected area that has a large anchorage and two good marine facilities at hand. If you plan to explore the Woods Hole area, Great Harbor is only a mile down the road, which is either a short bike ride or a pleasant walk away. Further exploration can be taken to Falmouth Harbor or north to West Falmouth.

The image above is a view from the west looking over the entrance to Quissett Harbor. In the bottom portion of the image, flashing red buoy “2,” green can buoy “3,” and red nun buoy “4” can clearly be seen. Off to the left (north) and right (south) are two designated anchorages, which also have interspersed mooring buoys. The marinas in Quissett Harbor are located off to the north (left) side of the image out of view.

Navigating the Water:
Use NOAA Chart 13230.

Quissett Harbor is approached from the west via Buzzards Bay. From Buzzards Bay, first set a course for flashing red buoy “2,” which is located at an approximate waypoint of N41 32.529 W70 39.941. Once you have safely reached flashing red buoy “2,” red nun buoy “4,” green can buoy “5,” red nun buoy “6,” and green can buoy “7” follow in quick succession.

Further aids up the harbor are red nun buoy “8” and green can buoy “9,” which guide you up through the anchorage and moorings to the Quissett Harbor Yacht Club and Quissett Harbor Marine. Neither offer transient slips, but you can get repairs at Quissett Harbor Marine. Quissett Harbor is mainly an anchorage and mooring are for folks passing through.
