The best are the first for the taking....this prime locale was selected nearly a century ago; establishing it as the first marina in the area.Host to Ernest Hemingway, legions of renowned sportsmen and original home of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, the Morehead City Yacht Basin has recently undergone a 4.5 million dollar renovation to be the premier yachting facility on the crystal coast. The newly renovated Morehead City Yacht Basin is a favorite mid-Atlantic stopping point for those cruising north/south, fishing the Pamlico Sound and Outer banks’ waters, or beginning the ocean voyage to the Caribbean and beyond.
This sheltered, deepwater basin has 10-13 foot minimum depths at dockside, little or no current to contend with and easy access to the Intracoastal waterway and Beaufort Inlet. MCYB now offers 88 slips (45 ft to 65 ft. long with widths to 24ft.) as well as 1250 feet of linear, side tie dockage to accommodate vessels over 200 feet. Floating docks fashioned from Brazilian cumuru wood and washed river gravel; assure easy refueling and passenger access to docked vessels regardless of tide conditions. Amenities include: Dual hookups (30/50/100 Amp), clean laundry and bathing facilities, clubhouse/lounge (complete with library), yacht brokerage services and a courtesy vehicle. Conveniently located near downtown Morehead City and within walking distance to banks, shops, and dry cleaners, bus station, the Post Office, churches and many fine restaurants.
