Woods Hole Harbor and Eel Pond |
Small family run boatyard in beautiful Quissett Harbor. Transient rental moorings are available on a first-come basis.
Extremely picturesque little marina. We were unfamiliar with the location and the marina has no map. It's not like other marinas that assign you a mooring, you just find an empty one (white balls, blue stripe "QBY"). They send a boat around in the morning to collect the mooring fee. There are other moorings in the field and so finding ours was more tedious than I anticipated. Would definitely keep some field glasses handy next time. Staff were very responsive via VHF and I'm sure would have come out if we asked. They have a pumpout boat as well. Tied up at the dinghy dock to take the short walk to The Knob - just beautiful. Now that I am familiar with it, would definitely stay again.
This is a small but outstanding boatyard with extremely knowledgeable owner and staff. We had a major problem with our sailboat when we arrived in the harbor. Despite having a ton of other work - including a boat launch - the boatyard's owner came out to the boat the next day, diagnosed the problem and helped me to fix it right then and there. Not only did he fix the immediate problem, but went further to ensure that it would never be repeated.
When traveling the waters around the Cape, don't miss out and stay for a few nights in Quissett Harbor. Jim at the Boatyard is quick to help make your visit enjoyable. The sunsets in the west over the water of Buzzards Bay was the best. Quissett Harbor Boatyard is high on our list for many future visits. Kevin & Holly Silverheels
