2 night minimum in July & August
All moorings are on the outside of the breakwall
Please Note: Mooring customers are not entitled to the marina's facility. The purchase of a mooring ensures a safe berth. All mooring facilities are provided by the town of Tisbury located at Owen Park.
Great time last year. See you in May.
Beautiful marina and great service from booking through our stay. Had a delicious meal and bottle of wine at the restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful location and great concierge. Had a really nice meal at their restaurant.
I did not end up using the mooring, the marina would not answer the phone or radio for several hours, once contact was made they notified me that all Launch service had been discontinued for the season.
We were stopping into MV for the night before heading out to Nantucket to meet friends. Came across this little gem of a Marina that could accommodate our 50' Azimut. The staff was friendly and responsive. They also recommended a few places to go that were still open on the island. My friends and I will be using them for our Vineyard trips moving forward. Thanks team at VHM!
Great marina with a small beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant on property.
When I call on the radio the first time, it was static. I called and they answered quickly and informed me the channel to call back on and it worked perfectly. When I arrived the young workers were very polite and helpful. They helped provided me with information about the area and what to see and good places to eat. Excellence service and attentive to my needs. Would recommend this marina to my friends.
We tried to contact the marina on 9 and we were told to try 72. On 72 they said 69, then 10 and 9. They never responded for three days on the vhf so we called the phone number. For two days we called, three times total, and got no answer and the message box was full. We finally tied up to a dock where someone came over and gave us a hard time about dropping people off. They promised they were monitoring 09 but no one ever responded. They were unfriendly, rude, and totally incompetent. The Launch service was a separate business and they responded promptly but they were far overworked and it was extremely difficult to get on and off the boat. Overall Vineyard Haven Marina was probably the worst marina I have dealt with so far in all of my travels. Totally unacceptable.
Arrived mid afternoon. There was no one to answer the radio to tell us what mooring to pick up. A rival company told us which moorings belonged to VHM. Their voice mail was full so we couldn't leave a message. When we went ashore the office was open but their was no one around. Papers and other stuff were all over the table...We understand they fired their manager earlier in the summer, leaving no one running the place. No doubt things will be better next year.
While the mooring field and harbor and town are a lovely place to stay, the VH Marina does not have it together this season. No one answers their radio, the voicemail is full on their phone, and it was a free-for-all fighting for their blue moorings. I had to phone the Harbormaster to ask what to do. When we arrived, with a paid reservation, all their moorings were taken, many by people who didn’t even stay the night. We had to pick up a random mooring and then jump to claim one of the VHM ones when it opened up. Even the launch operator was complaining about the chaos. Thanks for passing along the word. Hoping next year will be better. Two years ago it was fine.
Great dockhands. Well maintained marina.
Outer harbor is pretty windy with a northerly, communications after 6pm were also a challenge
I called a few days in advance and they told me to call on VHF when I arrived to get my mooring #. They never answered the radio. I tried calling them by phone and got an answering machine. The harbor master told me to just take any of the Blue moorings, which I did. Then I went it their office Friday afternoon, and door was wide open, but no one in sight. I tried calling a few more times over the weekend... no answer. They also didn’t provide a launch, but the Marina next door did. I’ll use their mooring service next time, not this one.
Awesome Marina,amazing dockhands!! GreatTime!
Easy booking. Enjoyed town and restaurants.
Mooring was fine. Couldn’t find the marina office so had to shower in GROSS town showers
Great Marina but prices are out of control. Between dock and electric it’s almost $12.50 a foot for a 60 boat. Last time For me, even though I love visiting town. Dockwa showed everything is reserved but placing a call to marina there is space available.
Very professional and courteous staff aware and adhering to all Covid protocol. Beautiful spot.
Great location. Excellent and helpful staff. Even the restaurant on premises is excellent. The only problem is that there is no usable WiFi service which we now consider to be a basic utility.
Very friendly staff. Clean and well-maintained facility. Great location.
Launch driver was excellent! ⛵️⛵️
It was first time visiting this location. I thought I was getting a dock slip. What I got was rafting to a boat my size along the dock and angling my stern to a dock finger. When asked how would we go out to explore they said people who come here don't leave for the weekend. They were polite but I would not go back.
Perfect. !! Very helpful.
We were moored outside the breakwater and despite fairly calm weather, we endured an uncomfortable night with the fetch coming into the harbor. Showers at Vineyard Haven Marina are reserved for customers who have slips and those available to mooring customers are at the Harbormaster’s Office, and they leave a little to be desired. The launch service was good but a little sporadic in the late evening.
Friendly staff. Super clean and a beautiful location.
Nice convenient location - Quiet with easy access to town - Good dingy dock - Not much protection from NE Winds
Perfection as always
Nice mooring. New pennant.
Vineyard Heaven Marine and Staff where great.
I was charged twice for the second night.
The mooring field outside the breakwater can be quite rolly, and was the night we stayed. A long dinghy ride to shore. But everything is right there, just off the ferry dock (including a West Marine!). Filled up with water at the town pier. A dry town, so BYOB.
We had a great stay, Liz and the entire staff were very accommodating, thanks for everything. Harry V
1. Mooring was outside the break water and was rocky. 2. Vineyard Haven Marina does not offer facilities to boaters on moorings. As these points were likely provided in some reference I should have look more carefully to know what to expect. 3. Town dock facilities are available for a fundamental shower but there was only of two showers operating and a wait was typical.
Very Helpful staff. Enjoyed.
Nice location enjoyed the quaintness of the area.
We arrived in foul weather and followed the instructions provided, there was no answer on our VHF hail. Eventually I called the Marina number by mobile number, I got a recording and left a message. I was called within the next 30 minutes and told that the mooring I was randomly on was OK. Though the mooring pennant was too thick to go through my bow fairlead, the only advice I could get was try another one, we were in very windy conditions.
Very nice Anchorage, easy dingy dock, close to beach and town.
The dockhands were beyond helpful...the setting beautiful as always...we will be back without a doubt!!!
I was VERY disappointed. Staying outside of the breakwater was a huge mistake. Too much boat traffic, and the wakes left behind from the inconsiderate (MANY) boaters resulted in a rocky experience us. Plus there doesn't seem to be any monitoring of the no-wake zone in that mooring field. I saw children swimming off the backs of their boats, while very inconsiderate people were zipping back and forth at high speed in their RIBs. They had absolutely no concern for the safety of those children or the wakes they left behind. I will never go back there again. Don't get me wrong. The people at Vineyard Haven Marina were actually great. But the location of that mooring field gets a big thumbs down from me. I recommend going inside Lagoon Pond next time.
Very easy to book through Dockwa. No problems with follow through once i radioed the marina. You have to radio a separate launch service to get ashore which i don’t think i read when i booked.
I well never stay at vineyard Haven outside the break water again. The boater’s in the area disregard the no wake zone. Leaving rocking all afternoon and evening. This was my worst experience on a mooring in 45 years of boating.
Great Harbor. We had a problem with the mooring immediately after picking it up (our fault). When we requested help there was none and we needed to call tow USA to help us. Otherwise great experience. We will come back
We were supposed to stay at Vineyard Haven Marina 6/18/18 but a small craft warning was issued by NOAA and my guests on the boat were uneasy with sailing in those conditions. I called Vineyard Haven to cancel, got only a recording, left a message explaining and canceling and left my phone number that they might contact me. Heard nothing back and see no credit on the card that was used. Even if they feel justified in keeping my fee it is negligent to not communicate.
Fine -- except I had to leave early due to mechanical problems to return to my home base.
I did not realize when I booked the mooring in Vineyard Haven that the Marina's moorings are all outside the barrier. Also, as a mooring customer with the Marina you are not permitted to use the Marina's facilities. Facilities are only for dock customers. The moorings inside the barrier are managed by the Vineyard Haven Harbormaster. These moorings are first come first serve and you can use the facilities (showers) at the town beach. It was very rough and windy when we arrived. I was afraid if I spent time below I would become seasick. My whole family was uncomfortable. We ended up switching to a town mooring inside the barrier. I wish Dockwa made the mooring location clear before we booked.
A lovely evening in Vineyard Haven. Still fairly quiet. Summer is here.
One of my favorite destinations. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The overall facility is updated, very private and the bathrooms are always clean. The location is great, within walking distance of several restaurants and beaches. The private boaters lounge is a great bonus.
Marina staff not personal and somewhat standoffish. The mooring was pick your own, it was outside the breakwater exposed to any wind coming from the North. In addition it was exposed to everyone's wake entering the harbor or coming up Vineyard Haven Sound.
As always VH Marina goes above and Beyond with their service, we got delayed in another harbor due to weather, have VH marina a heads up no worries we will move your arrival times things like that are all the reason I need to return. Thanks agaIN S/V KAIROS
Launch was very efficient and friendly. I was told that there were no slips available but that evening several were empty.
Easy to reserve and easy on and off mooring
The moorings are not protected enough from general boat traffic and Ferry wakes in the channel and a North East wind. Kinda strange they don't have a "no wake zone."
VH Marina is not for sailboats I strongly urge you to change your affiliation. The marina has an attitude problem and is not very helpful
