The Hammond Marina, Gateway to the Great Lakes
Lake Michigan's fastest growing marina, voted number one by boaters for friendliness, service and accessibility. Home of the Hammond Yacht Club and Horseshoe Casino.

Please Note:

The marina will be closed October 1, 2006, until May 1, 2008, to all boat traffic due to construction.

Welcome to The Hammond Marina
Welcome to the Hammond Marina, one of the largest recreational harbors in the United States. Opened in 1991, it has grown over the years to become one of the most popular destinations on Lake Michigan. In the fall, yachts pass through Hammond to gain access to the Calumet River, which takes them south to the Gulf of Mexico; in the spring, the voyagers come north the same way. Hammond is truly a gateway to the Great Lakes.

This publicly owned facility offers many attractions: the Harbor Pavilion with Ship Store and Deli; second floor conference center and banquet room affording the best view in Hammond; harborside patios with tables and umbrellas; and the breakwater promenade - with fishing piers and beach access extending over a quarter mile out into Lake Michigan.

Also, the Marina offers a sailing instruction program with four brand new keelboats, professionally certified instructors, and a scheduling system designed for people with busy schedules. The Hammond Sail-A-Way Program, the only community sailing program in Indiana on Lake Michigan, offers specialized instruction for sailors with disabilities as well.

The Hammond Marina Pavilion
The Hammond Marina Pavilion is open for all your boating needs and services. This 15,000 sq. ft. facility, built with careful attention to detail, includes a Ship Store and Deli, ceramic tiled boater showers and lavatories, laundry facilities, offices, and a large meeting and party room with balcony on the second floor.

With completion in July, 2000, the Marina now boasts a second pavilion at the entrance to the main dock. This two-story structure contains expanded boater facilities on the first floor, including a game room and information center. The second floor is home to the Hammond Yacht Club, a state of the art facility which includes a restaurant and bar area and a wide balcony overlooking the marina. If you would like more information about the Yacht club please email HammondYachtClub@aol.com .

Casino Gaming
The marina also hosts a casino gaming complex which includes a deli, buffet restaurant, and a fabulous steakhouse overlooking Lake Michigan. There is no charge to use any of the casino facilities. The gaming ship does not cruise during the boating season on weekends or holidays, causing no disruption to boat traffic in and out of the harbor.
