Introduction:
Fields Landing is located south of Eureka in Homboldt Bay about two miles south of the Entrance Channel. For those making a journey north or south along the coast, this is a closer pit stop than Eureka (a few miles to the north), but with limited facilities.

Navigating the Water:
Use NOAA Chart 18622.

From the Pacific Ocean, pick up red and white Morse (A) buoy “HB” just west of Bar Channel, which leads to the inlet to Humboldt Bay. Flashing green “3” and flashing red “4” mark the north and south breakwaters of the entrance channel, respectively.

Once inside, the waterway makes a sharp turn toward the north. From the turn, pick up quick flashing red bell buoy “8,” take the Fields Landing Channel south, and then turn northeast into King Solomon Slough at the flashing white privately maintained light.

Local Notices to Mariners:
Local Notices to Mariners are now exclusively available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
