The Pool is a small harbor located on Cranberry Island, which is located just south and southeast of Northeast and Southwest harbors (Mount Desert Island), respectively.

Relatively shallow with a tricky entrance that shallows to one-foot depths at low tide, The Pool is only accessible to extremely shallow draft vessels on a very high tide.

The entrance to The Pool is unmarked and should not be attempted without first-hand local knowledge. The entrance has shallow one-foot depths at low tide, and only vessels with the shallowest of drafts can explore this area.

Once inside, are of eight- to 10-foot depths is suitable for anchoring, but is often full with other boats.
