The first thing you need to know about this incredible marina is that it is NOT open to the public at large. BUT... if you are lucky enough to score an invite to stay from a member, then you are going to be in one of the most beautiful marina settings anywhere in America. Professionally staffed, with good power and deep water approach and dockside depths, this is one of those true "Bucket List" places in the World. Figure out how to get here. It's worth it.
Shady Harbor is consistently one of, if not THE most fun, well managed, and useful stops on The Loop. From the first class restaurant, to the pump out and reasonable fuel prices, to the loaner car… Shady stands head and shoulders above any other marina in the area.
This Marina is an absolute hidden gem!! Brand new, great docks, great power, and even decent Wifi service, you can walk to restaurants, casino, and more... and Schenectady is probably one of the nicest, most "high-end" cities in Upstate NY. Also, the young man that is in charge of the Marina, James Donovan, is truly exceptional. I stayed there for a week, and every time I'd see him, he would ask how everything was, and if there was anything he could do to make my stay better. Also, he always had a smile on his face -- which honestly, can sometimes be in short supply in marinas in this part of the world, especially during peak season!
