Great staff, showers very nice, grounds lovely and it’s a nice walk out the jetty. Always a welcome spot coming back from Maine to the CCC with great protection from the east. Wavey if the wind is from the north ans there is a long fetch in the harbor, and you’ll be up with the lobstermen pre-dawn. EPYC - the pickup buoy on G7 needs maintenance as the line is down to its last thread! Look forward to our next visit.
Safe Harbor Rockland provides an extraordinary level of service to the visiting yachtsman. The shower facility is spotless and provide fresh towels, laundry is free, courtesy car available, staff helpful, pleasant and willing to go the extra mile. Some of the higher priced facilities on the East coast could take a page from their book. Rockland is a worthwhile stop for those in need supplies and bit of culture at the Farnsworth Museum, and it’s nice to see an active, working waterfront.
Snug little harbor if you need a place to tuck in. It’s a ways up the well marked channel and best to have the current with you as it can run over a knot. The town is touristy but found an excellent dinner at Salt.
The adjacent restaurant is very busy, at least on a Sunday, and arriving and departing motorboats (and there were quite a few) seem to have two speeds - stopped and wide open - so expect them to drag wakes through the mooring field. Lobstermen I can understand, but if you’re heading for the bar, slow down! The shower, it’s worth noting, is newly renovated and very nice.
