This marina was convienent to the Port Lycaya Marketplace and the folks we were traveling with wanted to be "right in the thick of it". Docks are fixed wooden piers. Marina Staff was helpful. Dockage fee was reasonable and water was $5 for all you wanted - pretty good price for the Bahamas. Power was reliable and fuel dock was easy to access. There are several hotels nearby within easy walking distance and even a small casino across the street which several of our crew enjoyed one night. Marina is busy location and can be noisey but if you want to be near the Marketplace, this is a fine marina to utilize.
I stayed here for a couple days on a recent week long trip to Bimini and the Berry Islands. This marina is very nice. at least 5 ft of water in channel everytime I went through. They have a dredge bucket on the rock jetty keeping the channel clear. Docks were very nice (floating cement docks) and the marina staff was helpful. Fuel was $4.95/gal (pretty common price these days in the Bahamas). Water was $0.20/gal. Food was good. One restaurant at Bimini Sands but go down the road to the Bimini Beach Club which is affiliated with the marina and there is another good restaurant with a surprising good sushi chef. I'd go back again and would choose Bimini Sands over other marinas on North Bimini due to ease of access, price of dockage, and helpfulness of the staff.
Stayed at chub cay club for 2 days fishing. Marina was in very good shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. The members fishing tournament was going on just when I was leaving so that could be one reason why everything was in good shape and there was plenty of fuel and ice. I'd go back, especially if the winds are right for fishing "the pocket".
