Email communication pre-arrival was detailed and organized and the reception by the dock master and dock hand was great - we were put in a really nice spot. What was disappointing was the on-land experience. Despite all the emails there was no mention there or on the website that the on site pool was closed for COVID as were the showers. We eventually learned that there were open showers over in Capri East, about an 8 minute walk away, but we discovered this ourselves. We were told that the nearby town pool was available but after walking over learned it’s only for local residents. The facilities overall seemed nice but for what we were paying it was disappointing to not have two of the key amenities we chose for this location unavailable without any advance warning.

Very nice people. Our reception was flawless with a quick and helpful response from the dock master and crew who put us in a lovely spot. Pretty, well manicured grounds that felt secure with clean bathrooms. There’s a cute cafe good for breakfast and lunch and places to grill. Within easy walking distance is a nice beach, shady park, a well-kept mini golf course and two restaurants. The on-site shop is spacious and has a nice selection of boating tools and gear as well as the gifty stuff. If you need a supermarket of any kind, this will require a taxi.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and tied up outside of the sea wall while we waited a while for any dock hand to greet us. When they eventually arrived, there was no clear plan as to where we would eventually go for the night and we wound up bouncing around for two hours before we were ultimately settled in a decent spot. Dock hands were friendly but with very little English on the go communication was a little challenging. The Marina itself is home to lots of party boat action so be prepared for a certain level of noise. Bathrooms were clean and relatively modern so that was a nice surprise. Definitely a spot to stop for convenience as opposed to atmosphere.

Lovely setting, a sweet little clubhouse where we received a warm welcome from members when we stopped in for their Friday happy hour, and a place where visitors are encouraged to use the range of facilities including a pool that was open until 8:00pm complete with lifeguards. Dockmaster De was fantastic- quick to respond to questions before our trip, ready and waiting and helpful upon our arrival, and readily available without being intrusive throughout our weekend stay. Shattemuc seems to have made a concerted effort to make itself a place that is welcoming to visitors and it shows. P.S. The club is walking distance to a couple of restaurants and bars including The Boathouse which was great, and a five minute walk to a large boat supply store (Waverly Marina), as well as the Ossining MetroNorth train station.
