Staff and organization get 5 stars. I gave it 4 because I was asked to dock stern in and the dock had no padding and the wind pushed the boat into the metal plate that dinged up the cover on my motor.
Next time I'll know better to get the boat tied up with the motor backed away from the dock. I would not hesitate to use this marina again.
We do generally ask boaters to back into their assigned slips for a variety of reasons. Most of the time it is related to the accessibility from the vessel to utilities (power, water, etc.) and the ability to board / disembark easily. Regardless, it is always the Captain's prerogative as to how they will be tied. We are sorry to hear that your motor cover was damaged but we do hope that you will return for another visit.
