Introduction:

This is a low clearance railroad bascule bridge that is now left permanently in the down position. Its closed vertical clearance sets the lower limit for the San Joaquin River traveling south from Stockton.

Navigating the Bridge:

Use NOAA Chart 18661.

Characteristics: The bridge has a 14-foot closed vertical clearance and 100 feet of horizontal clearance in the center span.

Bridge is left permanently down.
