Introduction:

The Ryer Island Swing Bridge carries vehicular traffic across Miner Slough to and from Prospect and Ryer islands, linking the network of levee roads in the area.

Navigating the Bridge:

Use NOAA Chart 18662.

Characteristics: The bridge has a closed vertical clearance of 17 feet and a horizontal clearance of 72 feet at the center span. Depths in Miner Slough range from five to 11 feet, and currents can be strong during times of high water in the spring melt.
