Bridgeport Harbor in Bridgeport Connecticut is located on the north side of the Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Pequonnock River. Bridgeport is a seaport city and also the largest city in Connecticut and was famous for its shipbuilding, trade and whaling industry. Sometimes called "The Park City" because of its large number of well maintained and beautiful natural parks and historic districts, it is a short train ride from New York City and a great weekend getaway. The rich history of the city along with its theaters, performing arts centers and the famous Beardsley Zoo give you plenty of options when visiting.
